We have had dogs for as long as we can remember. We had a mix Newfoundland x Bouvier des Flandres named Wolf. Later on we had a Bouvier des Flandres, Pasha. Her sister lived with my grandparents and her name was Sultan. Pasha got to be almost 13 years old. She passed away on June 6th 2004 after a long struggle.
Later in 2004 we fell in love with the Newfoundlanddog. We bought our first babygirl, Dzilla. Dzilla was a very special little girl, but soon she became very sick. She didn't want to eat anymore, but the vet could not immediately see what was going on with her. She had some tests at the Veterinary Department of UGent in Merelbeke. There they found out that she had a livershunt. The operation would be too risky for them to do, so they sent us to the Veterinary Department of the University of Utrecht. They operated on her for several hours band when she was in recovery we got a phonecall from the surgeant: Dzilla's liver was too small to function well and on top of that there were almost no vains. So we had to make a very hard decision over the phone. The surgeant recommended us to just let her sleep, which we decided to do.
Dzilla was born on October 3rd 2004 and passed away on April 13th 2005.
In July 2005 Viggo came to live with us, he brought and still brings a lot of joy into our home! Viggo was born on April 14th 2005, the day after Dzilla died.
On April 16th 2007, Mona landed at Schiphol Airport! She was then 3,5 months old. Perfect present for Viggo's birthday: a girlfriend!
November 22nd 2008, Shaggy the Cat came to live with us. He's a sheltercat that needs a looooot of love which he gets from us as well as from the dogs!
Again April 16th, now in 2010, Mona had 9 puppies. One of them died the first night. Out of this other 8 we kept our little Gracie-girl. Grace was born with a not-functioning kidney. She had surgery on June 30th and she's doing great ever since. And Shaggy became her best friend!
So now we live with 3 Newfoundlands, a cat and 8 rabbits in Kapellen (Antwerp)!
